Tamana

Tamana
Tamana, the second southernmost island in the Gilbert group, is the smallest inhabited island of Kiribati, only about 6 kilometres in length and one kilometre at its widest point; it has no lagoon. There are three villages along the west coast; Bakaka is the central one, with all the facilities and a huge church. The total population is about 1,100.
